Image-to-video examples

Each clip lists the model and the exact prompt it was made with. Start from one and change what you like.

  • “Shot 1: close-up of an old lighthouse keeper in a wet oilskin coat climbing a spiral iron staircase, a swinging lantern lighting his face, rain hammering the windows. Shot 2: wide shot from the sea as the lighthouse beam sweeps across huge storm waves crashing on the rocks, lightning splits the sky. Rolling thunder and howling wind”

How to animate an image with Seedance

In image mode your picture is the first frame of the video, so the subject, composition and colours stay as you made them. Add a second picture as the last frame and Seedance works out the motion between the two, which suits reveals, transformations and product turns.

The prompt only needs the change: what moves, how the camera travels and what we hear. Seedance already sees the picture, so "the camera drifts closer as she looks up from her book, pages rustle" works better than describing her again. The clip keeps your image's shape, so nothing is cropped.

Pictures that animate well have one clear subject, some space around it and light that matches the scene you're asking for. Collages, heavy text and very small faces animate poorly. For people, short natural motion such as a glance, a smile or a few steps holds a face better than a full dance.

The form checks the image's size and proportions before you pay and tells you what to fix. Upload only pictures you own or have permission to use. Images of public figures or copyrighted stills may be refused by the content check, and refused renders cost nothing.

Typical uses: a product that rotates or opens, a portrait that blinks and smiles, a landscape with drifting clouds and moving water, and before-and-after pairs that use a last frame. On Seedance 2.5 an image clip can run up to 30 seconds; for long clips, a last frame keeps the ending under control.
